He was born in the village of Sagardandi in Jessore district on January 25, 1824. His ancestral home was in Bali, Howrah, West Bengal. The settlement was Gopalpur, Tala, Satkhira. The first man's name was Ramram Dutt. Ram Kishore Datta was the second male. He came from Gopalpur in Satkhira village in Jessore's Sagordari village. His grandfather, Ramnithi Datta, was the grandfather of Michael Madhusudan. Madhusudan's father was the great king Narayan Dutta. Mother was Jahnabi Devi, daughter of Gaurikaran Ghosh of Raduli Kathipara village. Raj Narayan Dutta had no daughters. There were three sons, Madhusudan Dutta, Mahendra Narayan Dutt, Prasanna Kumar Dutt, who died in old age, respectively.
Madhusudan was the eldest child of his father. In 1948, the poet went to Madras to study at Calcutta Hindu College first and after 1848 the father's financial assistance was stopped. In 1863 he went to France and stayed with his family in Versailles At this time his intense money came and when he got the opportunity to go to jail for loan, Daksh Sagar Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar sent a letter of one thousand rupees to his son and after collecting more money, he rescued the poet from that danger. Barrister Education concludes on 17 December 1866. While in Versailles, he tried to introduce Italian language sonnet in Bengal, which resulted in his writings of poetry and poetry (1866).
Law business started from 1867. In 1870, he took a job in the Supreme Court. Malbhum accepted the job of Panchkot Raja's advisor.
